Textream for Mac

A teleprompter that follows your voice.

Textream sits under your MacBook's camera and highlights each word as you say it, so you can look into the lens and keep your place. If you skip a line, redo one, or wander off script for a minute, it finds you again when you come back. The speech recognition runs on your Mac.

This is Wilton Blake's own build of Textream, the open-source teleprompter by Fatih Kadir Akın (MIT license). It adds a bigger notch, steadier word tracking, and loading scripts from Google Docs.

Google Docs

Textream can load a script from a Google Doc you choose. It asks Google for read-only access to your Docs, and it reads only the doc whose link you paste, when you click Load or Refresh. The privacy policy explains exactly what it touches.
