Textream for Mac

Privacy policy

Effective November 5, 2026

Textream is a teleprompter app for Mac. This policy covers Wilton Blake's build of it, the one that can load scripts from Google Docs.

What Textream reads from Google

When you paste a Google Doc link and click Load or Refresh, Textream uses Google's read-only Docs permission to read that doc's title and text. That's the only Google data it touches. It never edits, creates, deletes or shares a document, and it doesn't look at your other files, your email or your contacts.

Where your data goes

The doc's text goes from Google straight to the app on your Mac and stays there. Textream has no servers, no accounts and no analytics. It doesn't sell, share or transfer your Google data to anyone, and it doesn't use it for advertising or to train AI models.

Your Google sign-in

Textream keeps your Google sign-in in your Mac's Keychain. Clicking Sign Out of Google in the Load from Google Docs window deletes it and asks Google to revoke Textream's access. You can also remove access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Your microphone

Word tracking listens through your Mac's microphone and turns speech into text on your Mac, using Apple's on-device speech recognition. Textream doesn't record or save your audio, and it doesn't send it anywhere.

Other connections

Textream contacts Google only when you load or refresh a doc. The one other service it contacts is GitHub, to check whether a newer version is out; that check sends no personal data.

Google's rules

Textream's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
